A man has died in the early hours of Sunday morning after being found injured in East Kilbride. The man thought to have been killed yesterday in a reported hit-and-run was 24-year-old, Craig Kearney.
Emotional tributes have been paid from both locals and Craig's football team mates. On social media, they wrote: “Sad to hear of the passing of Craig Kearney who appeared for the club during our campaign last season. Rest easy.”
A crime tent was seen at the bottom of the hill and to the right a grey Renault Megane was also seen parked behind the police tape.
A local resident said: “It’s a shame, no matter what happened. It’s a very nice area.”
On Facebook, Andy Duncan said: “Shocked. RIP Craig Kearney. Always had a smile on his face.”
Another resident on Facebook said: "What is this world coming to. My thoughts are with his friends and family."
Police spent all day searching the area and quizzing locals for any information they may have, but would not yet confirm if Craig was the victim and if it was indeed a hit-and-run.
